History of the company
Then and now
1914
Otto
Roth begins his self-employment and founds his own company in
Stuttgart-Feuerbach. The core business is the production of heating pipe
clamps.

1919
The company is entered in the Commercial Register.
1928
Development to include screw wholesale and the start of an automatic turning
shop.
1955
The production is transferred to Stuttgart-Weilimdorf.
1961
The company founder, Otto Roth, dies at the age of 79. His son-in-law,
Albert Grässle, becomes a member of the Management Board.
1964
The new warehouse in Stuttgart-Feuerbach is completed without interrupting
operations. The old warehouse is turned into administrative buildings. The
company celebrates its golden jubilee with more than 200 employees.
1970
In order to fulfil customer demand for improved local representation, branches are
set up in Augsburg and Nuremberg.
1980
In order to permit further expansion, the production factory is relocated to
Buchen in the Odenwald.
1982
Today's managing partner Rainer Grässle, joins the Management Board.
1992
New construction and launch of the logistics centre, as well as relocation of
the headquarters to Stuttgart-Weilimdorf.
1993
Expansion is undertaken into the new Federal States with the establishment of a
branch in Chemnitz. Introduction of C-part management according to the Kanban principle.
1995
Countrywide presence is achieved with the takeover of Berliner Schrauben GmbH & Co KG.
2000
The Stuttgart warehouse is extended. Today are 30,000 trays and 8,700 pallet spaces available.
2001
The OTTO ROTH homepage (www.ottoroth.de)
is launched on the internet.
2002
OTTO ROTH is accredited by the IHK (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) as an
apprenticeship company. Apprenticeships are available for:
- Salesman in wholesale and foreign trade
- Qualified warehouseperson.
The company is awarded “supplier of the year” title by AUMA Werner Riester GmbH
& Co. KG.
2004
The Kanban service is extended to smaller companies by means of the
Kanban-Mobil.DE facility.
2007
On-line shopping on the internet at www.ottoroth.de/shop is introduced.
2008
Certification of our environmental management system in accordance with standard ISO 14001.
Expansion
of the production plant in Buchen/Odenwald by 2,300 m² of production area and
workshop space with associated modernisation.
